Logitech Circle 2 Security Camera.

Logitech Circle 2 Closes the Loop on What a Network Camera Can Do

Logitech has added to their family of music, gaming, video and computing accessories with an update to their home security camera, the Circle 2. The new camera is a weatherproof main module that adapts to the desired use with a versatile design, various mounts and accessories – allowing it to be used in nearly any situation. The updated companion mobile (iOS/Android) and web applications can access multiple cameras and integrate with many popular smart home solutions.

The Circle 2 will be available in both wired and wire-free (battery powered) models, although the main module can be swapped which give users the freedom to position (and power) the Circle 2 camera either way. Featuring unlimited 1080p HD streaming, night vision, a 180º wide-angle lens, and two-way talk and listen. The built-in speaker and microphone let you interact with what you see instantly, whether it’s to talk to someone at your front door or telling the kids to shut off the video games on a school night.

At launch, the Circle 2 will have four different mounts and accessories that can be swapped and interchanged:

  • A Window Mount will let users see what’s happening outside, while keeping the camera mounted inside.
  • The Plug Mount attaches directly to a wall outlet – in the kitchen, garage or even down low to see your pet.
  • Allowing the wired Circle 2 to reach further, both indoors and outdoors, a Weatherproof Extension Case ensures the cables are safe from outside weather conditions.
  • A backup Rechargeable Battery is available so batteries for wire-free Circle 2 cameras can be quickly swapped while the other is charging.

Every Circle 2 camera will come with 24-hours of free, secure bank-level encrypted cloud storage (paid “CircleSafe” storage plans are available that include more storage and additional features).

People want the peace of mind that comes with a simple security solution. Circle 2 gives people just that – you can place the camera wherever you need it, inside or out, and rest assured that you’ll be alerted of any changes in your home while you’re away.

Circle 2 cameras will work with many smart home platforms (Apple HomeKit support will follow soon with a software update). Recording and key settings of Circle 2 cameras can be controlled with voice commands through an Amazon Echo skill.

Circle 2 is expected ship in mid-July and is available for pre-order now at Logitech.com. The wired version is $179.99 and the Circle 2 wire-free is $199.99; the accessories range in price from $29.99 to $49.99. Circle 2 will also be available in retail at Best Buy, Amazon and Apple.
