The new Portable Ultra Short Throw Projector from Sony is designed specifically to change the daily experience and transform the spaces we live in. Despite being only 3.94 cubic inches, it holds internal speakers and can project an image onto walls, tables, or any adjacent surface.
Thanks to its tiny size, the projector can be placed flat against a surface and the image is corrected to project a sharp 22″ image. Pulling the device further from the surface, the image can be grown up to 80″ wide and turn any wall into a movie screen. The Portable Ultra Short Throw Projector can either play video from a Wi-Fi connection or through its HDMI jack (and a cable box, Blue-ray player, etc).
The Sony Portable Ultra Short Throw Projector will retail for $999; a matching stand will elevate the device to an ideal viewing height, with a retail price of $199.
The Portable Ultra Short Throw Projector is part of Sony’s new home experience concept: the “Life Space UX” made its east coast debut on March 17th, 2016 at the Architectural Digest Design Show in New York City. The aim of “Life Space UX” is to demonstrate how consumer technology can enrich people’s experience within existing space. As part of the experience, a variety of consumer products are being developed by Sony to use light, sound. and visuals in unexpected ways.
